Grand Lake Fireworks Inc. is hosting our 1st Annual 5K Dam Sunset Walk/Run. Early registration will be available online at www.grandlakefireworks.com and late registration will start at 4:30 p.m. at the shelter at Lakeside Park in Disney (formally Cherokee State Park #1). The Kids Run will start at 5:30 p.m. and the 5K Walk/Run will begin at 6:00 p.m. The run will start at the park, up through Disney and across the dam, and back to the park. There will be a Band and BBQ and Beverages waiting for all. Prizes and plaques will be awarded to the top 3 winners in each age category. We will have entry forms to pick up at various places in the area. The early registration price of the run for kids is $15.00 and the price for the 5K is $25.00 including t-shirts. $5.00 will be added for registration that day. They can pick up their packet at Lakeside Park the day of the event.
The CASI people are excited and want to come to Disney and host their Chili Cook-off at our Lakeside Park on the same day. They will set up at 11:00 a.m., turn in time on their chili at 2pm, and Awards at 4:00pm. This will be an all-day affair. All proceeds go to the Grand Lake Fireworks Inc. for the July 5th fireworks show on the water.
