The AMERICAN HERITAGE MUSIC FESTIVAL is June 7-9, 2018. The 21th Annual Music Festival celebrates our musical heritage with stellar entertainers and bands at the Grove Civic Center, (1720 S. Main Street), and Snider's Camp (located 1 mile South of Honey Creek Bridge and ½ mile East on 320 Road off of Hwy 59 S). Fiddlers, musicians and musical enthusiasts from across the U.S. gather for this exciting Festival of contests and entertainment.

This year, a new band showcase, "Bob Wills to Bluegrass Showdown" takes place on Friday at the Grove Civic Center with the winning band decided by audience applause. The winner receives a recording session at Teegarden Studios in Tulsa, ready to send out as promotion.

Headlining the Festival will be The Western Flyers, one of the most exciting new bands to glide onto the music scene in years. Their music is a distinctive cross section of authentic western swing, hot jazz and electrifying old-time tunes, featuring renowned guitar master Joey McKenzie, reigning National Swing Fiddle champion Katie Glassman and world class upright bassist Gavin Kelso.

The Grand Lake National Fiddle Contest takes place all day Saturday, June 9th in the Civic Center, culminating with the Saturday night concert featuring The Western Flyers, as well as the championship Round Robin playoff for the $1,000 Grand Prize. Highlighting the evening show, Jana Jae and Barry "Bones" Patton will perform in the concert, and throughout the weekend. Also, during the day on Saturday, in addition to the Open Division, age division competitions are available in PeeWee, Jr. Jr., Junior, and Senior. There are vendor and food booths available as well - Call for information, to register or buy tickets.

Thursday and Friday evenings, June 7-8, events are free to the public at Snider's Camp, with a kickoff party Thursday evening including band performances and the fun "30 Minute Band Scramble". Friday evening events include the Gamblers' Draw and the Anything Goes-Hot Fiddle Contest. Also Friday, a wonderful BBQ Dinner will be available for $10. Remember to take your lawn chairs for relaxed evenings of great entertainment at Snider's Camp.

Jana Jae, founder of Grand Lake Festivals, member of the National Fiddler Hall of Fame and Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, will be performing with family and friends throughout the weekend. For more information, to register or buy tickets, visit www.grandlakefestivals.com or call (918) 786-8896.
