The 22nd Annual AMERICAN HERITAGE MUSIC FESTIVAL is June 6, 7 and 8, 2019. This Annual Music Festival celebrates our musical heritage with competitions, stellar entertainers and bands at the Grove Civic Center. Thursday evening, June 6th at 6:00 p.m., the Festival opens with lots of fiddling, contests and jamming. The fun Kickoff Party and Jam promises an exciting musical evening, and also offering a delicious dinner for $7, by Dr. John Smith from Pittsburg, KS. He will also provide delicious food, lunch and dinner, throughout the Festival in the Grove Civic Center. Prairie Breeze String Band will open the Thursday evening entertainment along with other great groups, the 30-Minute Band Scramble, and an Open Stage for all to take part.
June 7 & 8 contests and musical entertainment fill the Grove Civic Center. Daytime events start at 10 a.m. on Friday with picking contests for mandolin, flatpicking, banjo and dobro. Friday afternoon is full of fun competitions including Twin Fiddling, Hot Fiddling, and special entertainment. Dr. John's BBQ Dinner for $10 will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. Continuing from 7-8 p.m., Grand Lake Festivals is honored to recognize our Country and Military Personnel, as we present the Oklahoma National Guard Army Concert Band, followed by other entertainment on stage. This exciting evening will conclude with a dance party featuring Bo Posey of Tulsa, and great dance band, from 9-11 p.m. There is no charge for admission to the Friday night events.
Saturday events begin at 9 a.m. with ALL the fiddle divisions taking place on Saturday, and special entertainment throughout the day. Also featured are many vendor booths, including artists and crafters, at the Civic Center on Friday and Saturday. Dr. John's BBQ Dinner will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. Saturday night features winners of the fiddle contest age divisions and the exciting Round Robin Play-off of the top 3 Open Division winners -- the Grand Champion wins $1,000.00!! Evening entertainment includes Jana Jae, popular Bones player, Barry Patton and friends. The FINALE for the evening will be with headliner Jim Paul Blair, presenting the "Buddy Holly and the Legends of Rock and Roll" Show, with full cast and band...A Festival with Great music, Great memories and Great fun!
Jana Jae, founder of Grand Lake Festivals and a member of the National Fiddler Hall of Fame and the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, will be hosting and performing with friends throughout the weekend. .
