Jana Jae Fiddle Camp & Music Festival is set for
Labor Day weekend, August 30, 31 & September 1, 2024
This Labor Day weekend, August 30, 21 & September 1, 2024, Jana Jae Fiddle Camp & Music Festival will be held at Snider's Camp and the Foundation Freewill Baptist Church, north of Grove. Friday, August 30th is the Kick-off party at Snider's Camp starting at 6:30 pm. Also, at Snider's Camp on Saturday evening, August 31st starting at 6:30 pm will be food, jamming and contests. Created by Jana Jae, this Camp now in its 27th year, is not just for fiddles, all acoustic instruments are encouraged, from bass, guitar, mandolin, and cello to ukulele and rhythm bones, spoons, and djembe drums. The Camp is in full swing August 31st and September 1st, at the Church, starting each morning at 10:00 am. More than 20 instructors will be on hand to perform and teach. "We'll have a fiddlin' good weekend!" according to Pastor Sam Smith. Pastor Smith has donated use of the church and its technical capabilities for the educational Fiddle Camp & Music Fest. The location will afford more private spaces for workshop pods, as well as shaded outdoor areas for rehearsing and jamming. On Sunday, Sept. 1st, a Gospel Music Jam is featured and a finale program put on by workshop groups is open to the public at 3 p.m. The camp is for all ages, and all levels of skills.
