This family-centric show is set in Treegap, New Hampshire in 1893. Eleven-year-old Winnie Foster yearns for a life of adventure beyond her white picket fence, but not until she becomes unexpectedly entwined with the Tuck Family does she get more than she could have imagined. When Winnie learns of the magic behind the Tuck's unending youth, she must fight to protect their secret from those who would do anything for a chance at eternal life. As her adventure unfolds, Winnie must ask herself if she could live forever, would she or will she return to her life and live it to the fullest.
The father of the Tuck family, Angus Tuck, tell Winnie an important life message: "Don't be afraid of death, Winnie. Be afraid of not being truly alive. You don't need to live forever, you just need to live."
"For over 10 years, I taught Natalie Babbitt's Tuck Everlasting to my 8th graders in Dover, Kansas," said Pam Leptich, Playmaker actor and director. "We discussed mortality, the passing of loved ones, the value of reality, the attraction of improbable dreams, and how life decisions change when we know life will someday end. We learned to make every moment count, to make all decisions accountable, and to live our lives so only a proud legacy would be remembered after we pass. I think Tuck Everlasting taught my students to treasure every moment of their lives and every moment of the lives of those they loved."
