McCall wins FLW tournament on Grand Lake




Chris McCall of Brookeland, Texas, weighed four bass totaling 16 pounds, 9 ounces Saturday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Okie Division event on Grand Lake. For his victory, McCall earned $5,604. McCall said that he was fishing the edge of a creek near Elk River using a Yum umbrella rig and a Santone jig. He was fishing in about12-feet of water. Rounding out the top 10 pros were: 2nd: Matthew Salyer, Owasso, Okla., five bass, 16-3, $2,652 3rd: Bob Harter, Tulsa, Okla., four bass, 14-10, $1,768 4th: Justin Phillips, Checotah, Okla., four bass, 13-12, $1,238 5th: Craig Smith, Dewey, Okla., three bass, 9-15, $1,061 6th: Orlean Smith, McAlester, Okla., three bass, 9-1, $972 7th: Scott Anderson, Broken Arrow, Okla., four bass, 8-14, $884 8th: Blake Neighbors, Grove, Okla.., three bass, 8-5, $796 9th: Donny Murrell, Sapulpa, Okla., three bass, 8-1, $707 10th: Walter Andries, Coweta, Okla., two bass, 7-6, $619 Complete results can be found at FLWOutdoors.com. Hubbard wins co-angler title: John Hubbard of Broken Arrow, Okla., weighed five bass totaling 10 pounds, 7 ounces Saturday to win the co-angler division. Hubbard earned $2,652 for his victory. After the last divisional tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 16-18 Regional Championship on Sam Rayburn Reservoir in Jasper, Texas. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
