The Most Popular Rock Crawling Event in Oklahoma
Big Meat Run is the most popular rock crawling event of the year in the Grand Lake area. The event brings people from all areas who seek the thrill of participating in or watching off-road excitement. The event includes individuals and teams pushing their ATVs, off-road vehicles, off-road dirt bikes, jeeps, and other rough terrain modalities to their limits rock climbing, mudding and wheeling.
Largest Off Roading Event
The energy-packed off-roading takes place near Disney, Oklahoma and it is seen as the largest event in the state of Oklahoma. Attendance to the Jeep wheelin’ event is around 15,000 people on average - with people coming from all over the United States to attend. Nearby campgrounds will be packed with families and off-road enthusiasts excited to participate and spectate.
Big Meat Run Background
Big Meat Run began many years ago by John Sumner and his family. Sumner is the owner of Sumner Machine Works in Arkansas City, Kansas. He is a native Oklahoman and decided to create the run as an appreciation event for his clients. Sumner is dedicated to keeping the event going in Disney, Oklahoma showing his dedication to the love of off-roading events.
The Big Meat Run began with only twelve participants. Now, the event brings over 15,000 people every year. What once was an appreciation event is now one of the largest Jeep wheelin’ events in the region.
